SuperGames 2012: The Performance Marketing Athletics Championship to End all Others

May 10th, 2012

May 31st will see the return of the most competitive and fun performance marketing sports tournament, SuperGames. The event, created and hosted by Affiliate Window will see twenty teams of advertisers, publishers, agencies and network staff go head-to-head in a battle of sporting prowess and competitive team spirit.

The gruelling, multi-sport championship will take place at Play On Sports in Canary Wharf and consists of 5-a-side football, netball, dodgeball, table tennis and bowls. At last year’s tournament, competitors consisted of 36% publishers, 24% advertisers, 20% agencies and 20% network staff.

An attendee from SuperGames 2011 comments on the event: “SuperGames was a great opportunity to network with advertisers, other publishers and account managers in a unique setting and environment. Focus on M-Commerce

May 8th, 2012

With 7% of network sales currently happening through a mobile or tablet (rising from 2% at the start of the year), there is a huge opportunity for both advertisers and publishers in this constantly evolving arena.

The Affiliate Window Strategy Team has spent much of the last eighteen months pulling together data to provide insight to our advertisers on the true impact of m-commerce within the performance channel. Our dedicated white paper outlined the rapid growth of this sector and highlighted the necessity for brands to consider affiliates when devising their mobile plans.

Today we announce the release of a number of platform improvements designed to highlight the opportunities within m-commerce.

Developments to our platform

Mobile Optimised filter in merchant directoryAdvertisers’ programmes are now marked as ‘Mobile Optimised’ if they have a mobile friendly site with advanced Affiliate Window tracking. Publishers driving sales to mobile optimised merchants can now feel reassured sales will be tracked no matter how the user chooses to interact with the brand, whether that’s through a mobile device or computer.

Debenhams Mobile Optimised ProfilePublishers have the ability to discover mobile optimised advertisers by using a new filter in the merchant directory. The information can also be found in the summary section of each advertiser’s profile.

In addition, it is now possible to see the device used by your customers in a number of our standard reports;

* Advertiser:  Validate Pending Commissions
* Advertiser:  Archived Commissions
* Publisher:  Transactions

This enables our partners to identify whether a transaction was made through a computer, tablet or mobile.  The data can be viewed on screen or exported via .csv or .xml downloads.  With this intriguing information now available to all, the true impact of mobile on your campaigns can be seen for the first time.

Getting started

All of the features outlined above are now live and ready to use.

If you are a publisher and have any questions about this new functionality, please e-mail our Publisher Services team who will be happy to help.

If you are an advertiser and would like to talk to us about m-commerce platform solutions or mobile tracking please speak to either your regular account contact or Caroline Westgate, our Business Development Manager.

For more information on the data and research we have compiled as a network, please contact the Strategy Team.

SuperGames Team Profile: O2

May 1st, 2012

We are now in the month of May and so the count down to SuperGames begins! To start the month off, we have our first advertiser team profile – Ed Chambers provides us with his pre-tournament comments.

=========================================================

Team Name: O2 All Stars
Team Colours: Blue and white
Team Composition: Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy, Girl (poor Sophie!)
Most Unbeatable Player: ‘Dynamo’ Dan Michelson

Q. Who is your sporting inspiration? / Which sports people do you hope to emulate across the tournament?
A. Possibly the Swiss skiing team, circa 1990.  Any group of people who can take part in top flight sports competitions whilst dressed as pieces of cheese do have to be admired.

Q. Aside from SuperGames, what is your favourite sporting event of the year?
A. Anything involving the England Rugby Team, in their very fetching O2 sponsored kit.

Q. In which of the five sports to do you expect to gain the highest and lowest points?
A. We’ve got high hopes for the dodgeball but feel that our netball abilities may let us down.  They should take the skill out of it by putting a board behind the net, like in basketball.  Read the rest of this entry »
