Connect 2016: Content, Cocktails and Creation

Affiliate Window’s Telecoms, Mobile & Broadband sector event – Connect, took place on Wednesday 17th August at the newly renovated IAB Events & Training Space situated in the heart of Covent Garden.

Advertisers and publishers from the network including O2, EE, Hyperoptic, Broadband Genie, broadbandchoices and Uniqodo all arrived promptly for an afternoon of networking and industry insights.

Nicola White, Head of Key Accounts at Affiliate Window, kicked off the event with welcoming all attendees and announced the release of the Connect 2016 whitepaper which features data and insight on mobile as an influencer, network trends, and importance of lifetime value.

Following up was the Network presentation delivered by Account Directors, Chloe Williams and Paul Stewart, who gave us key insights from the network, in which they shared two part content on trends and opportunities as well as the status of affiliate programmes today and how they will change going forward.

Next up was our Guest Speaker, Vijayanta Gupta, Head of Product and Industry Marketing at Adobe Systems Europe who delivered a very insightful presentation into ‘Telco Transformation in the age of Customer Experience’.

After a short break we welcomed our Q&A Panel consisting of Natasha Watkinson, Head of Affiliates at Plusnet; Kate Devine, Head of Broadband at MoneySuperMarket.com; Simon Mason, Director from Bigupdata  and Affiliate Window’s Global Strategy Director Kevin Edwards all took to the stage to discuss current topics affecting the telco sector such as the ASA changes that will be enforced in October.

After an insightful sequence of presentations and discussions it was time to start our Connect Cocktails networking activity hosted by Jam Inns. Attendees were split into four networking groups to enable lengthy discussions whilst learning to make cocktails and also creating their own unique creation.

Congrats to the winning team (Team 3) with their Midnight Passion cocktail which had the right combination of taste and presentation.

The event proved to be a great success with useful information to takeaway, as well as strengthening new and existing partnerships.
