Publisher Q&A: The Opportunity Marketplace

Written by Sophie Johnson on . Posted in Network News

logoLast year we launched the Opportunity Marketplace for all advertisers and publishers, a tool developed to give publishers a way of managing and promoting all of their opportunities on the Affiliate Window platform.

Publishers can post opportunities including payments for email placements, homepage takeovers, sponsored content and much more. Advertisers are able to browse an easy-to-use directory to find these new opportunities. Each opportunity displays detailed information about what’s involved, a suggested price and a suggested date so that an advertiser can get in touch to negotiate and agree on the final details.

tablet In this report we’ve taken a look at the typical online sectors purchased in prior to Father’s Day, this year held on Sunday 19th June.

Father’s Day is typically smaller than Mother’s Day, especially for online purchases, with consumers choosing clothing products (36%) as the most popular gift, 15% choosing alcoholic beverages and 12% experience days according to a 2015 Hermes survey (Retail Week). Father’s Day is on the rise though, with a 3% increase in 2015, raising participation in the event to 57% in the UK, compared to 65% for Mother’s Day (Forbes 2015). Customers also spend more online for Father’s Day than they do in store, up by nearly £6, according to Mintel research conducted two years ago (The Drum 2015).

Up and coming drinks brand, Juice Man was on hand to keep guests hydrated with healthy juices and awaken shots, alongside a range of Instagrammable edible treats, including branded caramel eclairs and biscuits. A Henna tattooist was also on-site to ensure that committed affiliates could get the complete Superdry look. We spoke to Superdry’s Affiliate Marketing Executive, Cameron Rooney about the idea behind the event and how the event engaged with publishers to lead to new opportunities.
