Social Influencers look to Affiliate Marketing to Monetise their Activity

Written by Sophie Johnson on . Posted in Network News

Affiliate Window sees an average of 390 new affiliate applications a week. With a strong focus on compliance and valuable relationships, we approve around two thirds of the applications we receive. Every application onto the network is reviewed using a combination of propriety and third party tools. Most importantly, we have a team dedicated to personally reviewing every single application.

The network adopts the ethos that ‘prevention is better than cure’ when it comes to considering non-compliant activity. If an applicant can’t explain how they intend to work with advertisers – or doesn’t pass security checks – then they won’t be permitted onto the network.

Equator launched Village Hotel Club’s affiliate programme in partnership with Affiliate Window in August 2015 with the aim to raise brand awareness and generate incremental bookings for the hotel brand.

Village Hotel Club offer modern, friendly accommodation and great facilities, including the Village Urban Spa, High-tech health and fitness clubs plus Starbucks stores, across over 28 ideal locations across the UK. They are a new kind of hotel, where cutting edge style meets every day affordability.

Competition is fierce within the travel sector therefore it has been important for Village Hotel Club to drive engagement with the publisher mix in an effort to optimise growth of the programme. Within the first 3 months of going live, Village Hotel Club achieved over 3.5k room bookings by increasing exposure with a variety of Affiliate Window publishers who supported the promotion of onsite room packages available for guests to book directly.

Affiliate marketing is built on conversions. It’s perceived as a functional route to market, low risk in its purest sense and brilliant at generating great return on investment for retailers. It’s also mainstream with almost every major advertiser in the UK running an affiliate campaign.

But in many senses it’s a victim of its own success. With such a focus on the sale and given how easy it is to measure, everything else that sits around the purchase is often ignored.
