Interface Issues Update

Written by Sarah on . Posted in Network News

Hi All

Firstly, let me apologise to all users for some of the issues you have all experienced over the last 24 hours. Yesterday morning we started receiving traffic levels that were way outside of our normal operating parameters, which caused issues serving requests via one of our datacenters.

This caused services such as the interface, datafeeds and the serving of images and banners to be disrupted. While the routing of clickthroughs was prioritised and most of this traffic continued to be supported some users may have experienced issues with clickthroughs. We are still assessing the extent of these issues and will provide a further update to those affected in the coming days.

The source of the disruptive traffic has been blocked out and several preventative measures have been implemented. However, we are continuing to manage abnormal amounts of traffic to the network. Currently all services are up and running, however some limited disruption to services such as the interface may persist today as we work to resolve the issues fully.
Should anybody still be concerned about ongoing issues or how this has affected them then please don’t hesitate to contact me directly –

Please accept my apologies for the issues.

Kind Regards

Anthony Clements

Seeing the Market in a new Light

Written by Sarah on . Posted in Publisher Tips

The LED lighting sector is a great example of a niche product that has seen huge growth online over the past year.  Increasing awareness over the benefits, both wide scale and to the individual consumer has seen a surge in consumers purchasing energy efficient lighting.  Savvy shoppers are well versed in the growth of LED and lighting specific advertisers online, where the home delivery and bulk buying options are an added incentive.  Affiliate Window has seen more and more advertisers enter the space and set up affiliate programmes to support their growth.  This ranges from pure play advertisers dedicated to lighting to high street retailers and household names expanding their product ranges.

Growth of the Market

Year on year the LED and lighting sector has grown substantially.  Affiliate Window saw publisher sales in this sector more than double in 2013 compared to 2012 and this trend looks to be continuing based on performance so far in 2014.  Required all year round as a product the ‘peak season’ coincides with the start of the winter months, though certainly for the start of 2014 the dip after Q4 2013 has not been as significant as that experienced between Q4 2012 and Q1 2013.

Calling all Brands: European Survey Opens for Advertisers

Written by Sarah on . Posted in PerformanceIN

performanceinlogoPerformanceIN, the UK’s largest performance marketing news and resource portal, has set out the foundation for new research into the affiliate channel – the European Advertiser Survey 2014.

The survey is now open and PerformanceIN is inviting any brand or advertiser that runs an affiliate programme to enter and share insights into how they manage this element of their performance marketing strategy.

Once the survey closes, PerformanceIN readers will be able to download a copy of the European Advertiser Landscape Report 2014, which will provide an unrivalled look into how brands work with affiliate marketing.

Split into four sections, the survey covers basic details about your company and its affiliate processes, along with international programme demographics, industry strategy and future outlook.

With the final report, PerformanceIN will expect to provide data on attribution, deduplication, hybrid commissions, long-tail sales, incrementality, mobile revenue, marketing budgets, programme positivity and more.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and once finished, there’s an option to be one of the first to download the European Advertiser Landscape Report 2014.
