Affiliate Window Updates to Affiliate Commission Reports

Written by Sam Surry on . Posted in Network News, Technology

We are pleased to tell you about a couple of new updates released over the last week; both tools will improve reporting for our affiliates.

Commission Group Performance Report: http://tinyurl.com/cvd5zf

We have updated and made more prominent the commission group performance report. The report allows you to see the commission groups, transaction values and commission values that you are generating sales for. It is particularly useful on programmes like Dixons, Currys and Comet which have hundreds of different commission groups. It will allow you to identify the types of products you generate sales for and help you identify sales trends.

Commission Details Report: http://tinyurl.com/cnh9u3

We have added a referring URL field to the Commission Details Report. This is the URL of the page where the click occurred that generated the transaction. This is really useful for affiliates who wish to identify the pages on their sites that are best for generating and converting sales. The referrer URL is only available with transaction information and not on individual click information.

Both reports are available in affiliate accounts, within the reports area below the right hand navigation. Please let us know if you have any feedback or suggestions by sending an e-mail to support@affiliatewindow.com.

The Affiliate Marketing Council

Written by Sam Surry on . Posted in IAB

The IAB recently released the dates of its forthcoming Affiliate Marketing Council meetings and as a regular representative network we wanted to highlight the benefits of attending these sessions.

Dan Redfearn, Membership Manager at the IAB, explains their role in the AMC meetings; “As the trade association for all digital advertising it’s important for the IAB to ensure that it represents and understands all aspects of the industry. To help facilitate this we offer a complimentary membership to merchants allowing them to come to events and learn about new developments. We also offer publishers within the affiliate space the chance to participate in our working groups and councils. Over the past couple of years the Affiliate Marketing Council has grown to represent parties from all sides of the affiliate marketing industry and we’re keen to ensure that this continues with more merchants and publishers joining us at these sessions.”

For any merchant or affiliate that wants to better understand the industry there is no better place to learn the issues affecting those within in it. Matt Bailey, Head of Affiliates at i-Level and current Chair of the AMC agrees; “The aim of the IAB’s Affiliate Marketing Council is to promote the effectiveness and understanding of the performance marketing channel and outline the benefits of affiliate marketing to merchants. This is beneficial to all members of the community; affiliates, agencies, networks and merchants. Therefore participation is an excellent way to increase your understanding of the whole market as well as helping to shape the industry and establish it as a mainstream media channel moving forward.”

As a consortium of people from across the affiliate channel who are encouraged to voice their opinions on a whole range of important topics, the AMC plays an important role in progressing the industry. “The IAB AMC provides an ideal opportunity to not only share experience but also to help shape the future of the affiliate marketing industry in the UK. The more affiliates and merchants who participate, the more the AMC can ensure that its viewpoint reflects the industry as a whole” says Keith Budden, Managing Partner at Arctic Sunrise.

“It can also help stimulate ideas and improvements for your own affiliate marketing programme”, says Naomi Brown, Online Marketing Manager at Firebox.com. “Being part of the AMC has given me some great insights into what’s going on in the industry. I enjoy contributing to important developments, and being able to pick the brains of a load of experienced and passionate people is very useful. I highly recommend it to other programme managers.”

Affiliate Window will be at the next AMC meeting on Thursday 26th March and we actively encourage our merchant, affiliate and agency partners to get involved; for those wishing to participate please contact Dan at the IAB for further details.

The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies 2009

Written by Sam Surry on . Posted in Achievements

Never one to rest on our laurels, Digital Window has not only made it into 2009s ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’, but we’ve also improved on last year’s performance. In 2008 we came in at 100 in the charts with a 1 star accreditation, this year we sit in 95th position with a 2 star status.

bestcompanies

Of all the awards Digital Window has received, this is possibly our greatest achievement of all, as the scores come directly from DW staff feedback. If this were the Oscars, this accolade would be the equivalent of ‘The Actors Actor Award’ which explains why Kevin Brown, our CEO, is so pleased with the outcome. He says; “This year we have made it again to the Sunday Times, Best Companies to work for and we are up from position 100 to 95. Personally that means a lot to me. A company is nothing without the people who represent it and DW has been built with great people.

Here are our results in greater detail; we do appreciate that there is still room for improvement but we are already on our way to implementing ideas and solutions that will help us grow further as a company, all of which are a direct result of our staff’s valuable input.

A huge thank you to everyone at HQ for helping Digital Window achieve this award for the second year in a row; here’s to a Best Companies hat trick in 2010.

Sam.
