March Seminar Feedback

Written by Sam Surry on . Posted in Events

nervousI have to admit that I was actually a little bit nervous about yesterday’s seminar! Surprising I know but with so many staff presenting sessions for the first time (including myself) I couldn’t help but be slightly anxious. But I’m thrilled to announce that my fears were completely ungrounded as yesterday was another storming success. : )

A huge pat on the back to my AWin presenters who did another sterling job; Claire, Andy, Julia, Jemma and Rachel – you were great! And a huge thanks to the lovely Ben Hart from Evans Cycles who saved my skin by filling-in last minute as our voice of experience. He won-over our audience with his honest, no-nonsense approach and I think his talk of lycra cycling shorts probably increased his popularity with the ladies!

Birthday Blog Post

I would like to take this public opportunity to thank my department for the best work Birthday celebration ever! I enjoyed a delicious lunch and then in the afternoon I was presented with some great Wii and zombie orientated gifts and if that wasn’t enough; graphic designer Paul made a cake in the shape of a Companion Cube. For those of you unfamiliar with a Companion Cube it is a reference to the computer game Portal (Yes I am kinda geeky).

Thanks again guys!!

Thank You

A huge thank you to Peter Empson from who managed to brighten up our Monday morning! Everyone at Affiliate Window was treated to a specially personalised calendar, from the GettingPersonal collection.

There is something really cool about seeing your name in lights or written in the stars! However this was my favourite one – it totally appeals to my ego!

Julie’s Whistler Adventure 2008

Written by Julie Wood on . Posted in Events

After fall, after fall I decided enough was enough and sat on the ski bench watching both Jo and Harvey continue their lessons.

The cheeky instructor thought that we were a family – Jo being the Dad, me the Mum and that Harvey was our son. I was pretty mortified! They are partners of sort but not in that way.

Both Jo and Harvey were brilliant but I decided to try out some other activity to avoid hurting myself any further.

The next day, Jamie and I found a cool thing to do… Motor Skiing, which was “Awesome”

The views from around the mountains were simply stunning!

Bear Dens – Thankfully the bear named “Sheila” with cub was in hybination

Deep in Mountains.

Jo exploring the Canadian wilderness

The following day, I managed to book another trip this time just outside Whistler – This adventure was Dog Sledging…. Again Awesome!

Whilst on this trip, we actually managed to stumble across Alexander Falls

However I did manage to get myself back on two feet up the mountain without Ski’s to take further advantage of this fantastic trip to take some good pictures and videos of Paul and Julian from IWOOT and their affiliates – Jo, Harvey, Ian and Jamie.

The lads – Ian, Jamie, Paul and Julian. Harvey was never around long enough to get his photo as he whizzes off down the mountain.

Thanks IWOOT for a wonderful trip. I know the guys are building a site with all pictures and videos – so I will keep you updated when finished.

Affiliate Window – A Sunday Times Best Company to Work For

Written by Sarah on . Posted in Network News

At the end of 2007 everyone made time to fill out the Best Companies questionnaire. Now we can all bask in the glory of working for one of the ‘Best Companies’ in the UK.

The Times Best 100 Company Best Company 1 star

Times Best 100 Small Companies

Yesterday the Sunday Times published their annual supplement The Best 100 Companies to Work For and Digital Window came in at No.100. We do some very nice things, (hooray! The Brits, huzzah!! For Nice, kaapow!!! to House of the Dead) however we all know that this accolade is achieved as much though teamwork as it is having fun.

Well done to everyone and please continue to put as much of yourselves into shaping the business in 2008.
